To share our message of hope, the Breast Cancer Fund has adopted this tradition.  Our growing collection of prayer flags is displayed at Breast Cancer Fund events to create a permanent tribute to the hundreds of thousands of people who have been through or are currently facing breast cancer.

We climb mountains to demonstrate how we confront breast cancer: one step at a time with the support of our friends and family, drawing upon our courage as we face our worst fears. Since 1995, breast cancer survivors and supporters have carried flags inscribed with hundreds of names to summits including Mt. Aconcagua, Argentina in 1995; Mt. McKinley, Alaska in 1998; Mt. Fuji, Japan in 2000; Mt. Shasta, California in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008; and Mt. Rainier, Washington in 2005. In June 2009, climbers will once again carry prayer flags to the summit of Mt. Shasta.
